I vote for odious, though odious people like that always make me wonder if they are exactly the same in the everyday life or only put on a certain confrontational personar for the benefit of the newspaper-selling. Actually after reading Non-violent communication by Marshall B Rosenberg I'm constantly struck how negative the language in the news is even when they are talking about something positive.
One other journalist called her style "pure link-baiting" - i.e. being so provocative so that people take the time to read and leave negative comments, which ofcourse drives advertising revenue. But there is no doubt that she is an ultra-conversative:

haha..the telegraph..an very conservative. I find her style both unnecessarily disparaging and disgusting. But I've found most ultra conservatives to be not only haters of everyone and everything, but also of themselves.
