My russian pirozhki worked :)

I first tried to make these back in 2008, inspired by Zoya's beautiful photos(http://fioleta.blogspot.com/2008/10/comfortable-challanges.html). But my dough didn't rise and it was a bit of a disaster.

This time they came out looking and tasting much better:

But I question whether it was worth it for the amount of work you have to put in? Basically takes 4-5 hours, and rolling out the dough is hard!

Verdict: only on the weekend, when the mood strikes

mmmm looks yummy... what's inside? :)

yeah they're a lot of work... just like Pelmeni... but it's a cool thing to do on a weekend with lots of spare time :)))

This is more fun if you have friends over helping :-) We sometimes do 'olivie' days here, much faster to cut up all the veggies if there are several of you...

I made meat & apple ones... and I pretty much have to eat them all myself 'cos Tim is away this week!
